Is Jr. Panthers for you??

Eligible skaters for Jr. Panthers are skaters with minimal skating experience born between 2012-2009.  Skaters must have passed Panther Paws Group 2, or have completed a class with similar requirements at another facility.  Jr. Panther skaters that are either too young or not developmentally ready to play Gold Mites Tier III hockey.  Tier III is the level of the competitive hockey program that skates out of Franklin Park.

Jr. Panthers will provide skaters with instruction using USA Hockey's ADM Model as well as offer game-like experiences through "Jamborees".  Skaters will benefit from a "team-like" environment and will see a 5:1 practice to game ratio. Coaches are a combination of experienced rink staff and volunteer parents of skaters registered in the program.  Not only is this a learning experience for the kids, but for our future Panther coaches.  Moms or Dads interested in helping will have their USA Hockey registration and background check completed and will gain valuable experience through their hands-on involvement. A small training session will take place early in the season to offer guidance and to provide reference materials to help coaches see more success.

Jr. Panthers is highly recommended for any younger skater that meets the requirements and wants to play Panther Hockey in the future.

Disclaimer: Participation in the Little Blackhawks program does NOT trump the requirements in place to participate in Tier III Hockey.  To participate as a Gold Mite (2009-2010) or Squirt (2008) for the 2017-2018 season, all players must PASS the skills from Panther Paws Group 5.  This can be accomplished by participating in the class or through a private evaluation of the Group 5 skills.

Step Up Your Game Summer 2018
This popular clinic is back! Step Up Your Game is for the hockey player who wants to raise their level of play. This program is ideal for the player who is not afraid to put in the work to get to the next level. Participants will be asked to play outside their comfort zone. Many of the drills will be advanced and will challenge your skater’s limits. Those who commit to the required work will see marked improvement in speed, agility, skill and confidence.
Two lead instructors will be on the ice each session to ensure development.

For Gold Mites, Squirts, Pee Wees & Bantams.
Since Step Up is on the Main Arena, the ice will be split. Gold Mites/Squirts on one end and Pee Wees/Bantams on the other.

Tuesdays, June 5 - July 31
*No Class 7/3 or 7/17. Class will be on 7/18 that week*
6:40-7:50pm on the Main Arena

Fee: $110 ID / $120 OD
